How to play

It's a 10, but... is the viral card game that PASANDOLA brought to the phone. Every turn somebody draws a secret card from 1 to 10, says the phrase that gives the game its name out loud, and makes up a flaw that explains why that 10 is really a lower number. Everyone else has to work out which one.

Every game takes 2 to 15 players and runs straight from your phone browser, with no download and no sign up. It is pure creative bluffing, so no game ever plays out like the one before.

  • Every turn, the Narrator secretly reveals a card from 1 to 10.
  • The Narrator says "It's a 10, but..." out loud and makes up a flaw that drops that 10 down to the real number on the card.
  • The Guesser listens to the clue and calls out the number they think it is.
  • Getting the exact number on the card right earns them a point.
  • Every player guesses once per round, so the Narrator and Guesser roles keep rotating around the group.
  • Before starting, the group can agree on how many tries the Guesser gets, since 1 try makes the game much harder and 3 makes it far more forgiving.

Narrator

Sees the secret card and has to make up a believable flaw on the spot that justifies why that 10 drops to the real number, without ever saying it outright.

Guesser

Listens to the clue from the Narrator and calls out a number. Getting the exact number on the card right adds a point to their score.

This is the simplest game to set up on PASANDOLA, with only two things to adjust before starting.

Frequently asked questions

How do you win at It's a 10, but...?

Whoever racks up the most points by guessing the exact number on the card across every round wins. Each correct guess as the Guesser is worth one point.

What is the Narrator and how is one picked?

The Narrator is whoever sees the secret card and gives the clue by making up a believable flaw. The role rotates automatically among the players turn by turn.

How many tries does the Guesser get?

The game does not put a limit on it, so the group is better off agreeing before starting. With 1 try the challenge is much steeper, and with 3 it is far more forgiving for new groups.

How many rounds does a typical game last?

You can pick anywhere from 1 to 5 rounds before starting. With more players every round feels longer, because everybody takes a turn at guessing.

Is it free?

Yes, completely free. There is no app to download, we ask for no sign up and you play straight from your phone browser.

Can you play with only 2 people?

Yes, the minimum is 2 players. With bigger groups the bluffing gets more interesting, because there are more people listening to the clue.
